How it works

Choose a standard paper size (A4, Letter, Legal, plus nearby A3, A5, and Tabloid). The tool shows portrait width × height in millimetres and inches, and highlights the selected row in a comparison table.

ISO 216 A-series sizes use exact millimetre dimensions. US Letter, Legal, and Tabloid use exact inch dimensions; millimetres are derived with 1 in = 25.4 mm (exact).

Results update as soon as you change the size. Empty selection clears the detail outputs—no error. Unknown size keys show a validation message.

Use Sample for A4 (210 × 297 mm).

Examples

  • A4 → 210 × 297 mm (≈ 8.27 × 11.69 in)
  • Letter → 8.5 × 11 in (215.9 × 279.4 mm)
  • Legal → 8.5 × 14 in (215.9 × 355.6 mm)
  • A3 → 297 × 420 mm

FAQ

Is my selection uploaded to a server?

No. Paper-size lookup runs entirely in your browser. Values are not sent to Every Tools.

What is the difference between A4 and Letter?

A4 is an ISO 216 size (210 × 297 mm). Letter is a common US size (8.5 × 11 in). They are close but not the same—Letter is slightly wider and shorter than A4.

Are dimensions portrait or landscape?

Values are shown as portrait width × height (the shorter side first for these standards). Rotate for landscape.

Why 25.4 mm per inch?

The international inch is defined as exactly 25.4 millimetres. ISO A sizes are defined in millimetres; US sizes are defined in inches.
